Smashed Rosemary and Garlic Potatoes

Smashed Rosemary and Garlic Potatoes

Great cholesterol lowering side dish recipe to accompany any meal.

  • 6 medium potatoes
  • 12 clove garlic
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 10 g / 2 tsp Flora Pro.Activ Buttery or original
  • 4 stalks rosemary, 6 cm each
  • 2 tsp Flora Pro.Activ Buttery or original, extra
  • 1 tsp finely chopped rosemary


  1. Preheat oven to 200°C.
  2. Peel, wash and thoroughly dry the potatoes and cut in half.
  3. Heat the oil and 2 tsp Florapro-activ in a baking dish (just large enough to fit the potatoes) in the oven. Arrange potatoes and garlic cloves in the dish and brush the potatoes with the heated Florapro-activ and oil. Add the rosemary stalks to the dish and bake for 15 minutes. Turn potatoes and garlic and bake for a further 15-20 minutes or until the potatoes are golden and cooked.
  4. To make the Rosemary Buttery, mix together the extra Flora pro-activ and chopped rosemary, removing the rosemary stalks from the dish.
  5. Lightly smash the potatoes with the back of a wooden spoon in the baking dish and mix in the Rosemary Buttery.
  6. Serve with grilled, barbecued, roasted or slow cooked meats.
  7. TIP – Parsnips, carrots and pumpkin would be great roasted like these potatoes.
